Any and all women are welcome to drop in at church on the first and third Thursday of every month from 5:30– 7:00 pm. Bring a sack supper (your own food from home or purchased on the way) and enjoy eating, discussion or an activity in the Cafe.

The evening’s host will provide the discussion topic or activity. Feel free to bring along your own craft, suggest activities for the group, or break away to attend a meeting when needed.

There is no preparation or cost; just come and enjoy some fellowship. If you need a ride or have questions, email Angie Bateman or Deb Mengler.

Summer EcoWalk - Horlock Prairie, LeRoy Oaks Forest Preserve

All are welcome to join us for our Summer EcoWalk at the Horlock Prairie in LeRoy Oaks Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean Street in St. Charles. This intergenerational event takes place from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The trails are not paved, but are mowed trails. We will meet in the parking lot on the south side of Dean Street at the Great Western Trail trailhead and walk to the prairie.

The Bob Horlock Prairie is a prairie that was recreated from an old farm field adjacent to a high-quality prairie remnant by the local high school prairie restoration club from 1973 to 1983 – under the tutelage of Mr. Robert Horlock. Students propagated and planted seedings from seeds collected locally. Approximately 130 species of prairie plants including both mesic and wet-mesic plant communities have been established here. Horlock family members will join us for this walk.

LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve includes a high-quality prairie, woodland, and Ferson Creek, which meanders through the preserve. Contained within the preserve is a true prairie remnant (the Murray prairie), various restorations (including the Bob Horlock Prairie), flood plain forests, seeps, oak woodlands, and grassy fields.

Questions? Email Jeff Mengler.

Sunday worship in the Sanctuary

All are welcome to our service of Scripture, sermon, prayers, and song.

Our service also includes a special time for the children. Children begin worship in the Sanctuary and leave with teachers during the sermon time for Sunday school. They are also welcome to worship with their families in the pews. Sound is also turned on in our Gathering Space just outside the big glass doors to the Sanctuary in case your child needs a little more space to move around during the service. A nursery is available for younger children if your family prefers that option.

Masks and socially distanced seating are optional.
