Silent Prayer Hour

In our fast-paced world, finding a quiet time to pray and listen to God can be a challenge. The Sanctuary is open on Wednesdays for a quiet time devoted to reflection and silent prayer. Questions? Contact Becky Pearce or Jean Williams.

Hours

  • Wednesday afternoons: 2:00 – 3:00 PM

  • Wednesday evenings: 6:00 – 7:00 PM

All are welcome — no sign-up or registration required. Come when you can and stay as long as you like.

We can pray anywhere, but if you benefit from a quiet, serene environment for a dedicated time to pray, come to our Silent Prayer Hours, where you will find soft lighting, music and prayer cards to help guide your time.

Silent Prayer Hour with Crystal Bowl Sound Meditation

Mike McGuigan, from Sounds for Health in Batavia, led two Crystal Bowls Sound Meditation and Prayer Sessions on March 25, 2026, 2:00-3:00 pm and 6:00-7:00 pm. Mike shared how the sound from the bowls interacts with our nervous systems, moving people to a calm and relaxed state. During the 6:00 pm session, FVPC member Jack Erwin led a mindful breathing exercise to help attendees prepare for the crystal bowl presentation. At this Lenten season of self reflection, this event provided attendees with an opportunity to find inner peace.

Twenty-eight FVPC members and seventeen people from the community attended. The Silent Prayer Hour Facilitation Team would like to thank the Adult Education and Disabilities Ministries Committees for funding this event.
