Last year, FVPC raised close to $6,000 for the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry and the Lazarus House meal programs with a new event, the Empty Bowls Fundraiser. It was a wonderful evening, and we are asking you to join us in raising $7,000 this year on Saturday, November 15.
Empty Bowls is a ticketed, artisan evening where folks enjoy live music, an arts and crafts raffle, a pottery demonstration, dine together in the Great Hall, and take home a hand-made ceramic soup bowl. Local restaurants donate specialty soups and bread, and ceramic studios donate bowls.
Supporting organizations that combat food insecurity has long been one of FVPC's missions, and we know many folks in the Fox Valley will experience cutbacks to food programs such as SNAP and others. The Empty Bowls Fundraiser for Food Insecurity is one way we can donate a significant contribution to help address this critical need!
Our core committee is hard at work preparing for this fun and meaningful event, but we need your help!
Buy Tickets - Gather friends and family so you can dine together at tables of eight. Tickets are $60.00 per person and go on sale on FVPC's website in September. Last year's event sold out, so we are adding tables this year. Look for the ticket table after worship on Sundays in October and November, or watch for ticket info in coming e-newsletters and posters.
Donate Your Art - Donate your art before November 12 to the Arts Raffle. We will accept items like ceramics, paintings, photography, weavings, and quilts. To donate, contact Wilma Van Arragon.
Volunteer - Come set up on Friday afternoon, November 14, and Saturday morning, November 15. Email Pat Sage or Laurie Musielak if you can spend an hour or two setting up tables, serving food, or helping with cleanup.
Any general questions, email event chair Karla Lynch.
