A Note from Pastor Stephanie

If last week was Christmas in July with a story from Jesus' infancy, we all might get some seasonal whiplash as we jump to Holy Week in July with a story from Jesus' Passion. We're focusing this summer on "bold and untold" stories of some of the people of faith we don't often hear about. Some, like this week's Joseph of Arimathea, are "supporting actors" in familiar stories. They tend not to get much of our attention when we read their stories in season, so these second looks give us a chance to consider them as Face of Our Faith in their own right.

Joseph of Arimathea was a dissenting voice on the council that sought Jesus' execution. He cared for Jesus' body after his death when even the disciples were cowering in fear and confusion. His desire to see God's kindom led him to take bold actions. In the process, he demonstrated God's kindom. Let's explore his story and his faith together this Sunday.
