Hate winter? You're not alone. While some people embrace winter, many dread it. It can be dreary and dark and it's usually pretty cold — all good reasons to stay warm and cozy inside. But we know that spending time outdoors in settings like those pictured above is good for our mental, spiritual, and physical health.
So, let’s take our second EcoWalk led by FVPC member and ecologist, Jeff Mengler. Even in the “dead of winter,” enjoying a hike through a local forest preserve can be just what you need to energize you. Our EcoWalk is an intergenerational activity open to all FVPC members and friends.
We’ll meet on Saturday, February 12, at 9:00 am in the Fabyan Woods Forest Preserve parking lot on the east side of Route 25 (east side of the river and across the street from the windmill). We’ll hike in the quiet of the woods reflecting on our connection with nature, the wildlife, and all of God’s creation for about two hours or so. Dress for the weather and trail conditions. No sign up needed. Questions? Contact Jeff Mengler (630-204-8377 or email).
